Yeah same, it seems like a timeskip but idk if it's Yume talking to Hama or the other way around. Unless they were talking to Mariko tho i doubt that lol.

I think it happened while they were trying to run away from the white space, the place shows illusions after all. The Mariko we saw either died after being disconnected from Glümfried (the mosquito monster) or was never real in the first. The fact it was skipped over is weird, but the author generally doesn't show their parents too.

I think the translator mixed up some pronouns, since Japanese doesn't really have pronouns in the first place. I presume the "you found your parents" was meant more as "you found her (Marie's) parents". It also happened in Chapter 121, when Hama was looking at a photo of her and her dad. Pretty sure it was Yume who spoke the line "A photo of my father?" so I think it was meant to be "your father". (Note, I don't speak Japanese, just making some guesses on my limited knowledge of how it works.)

As for Sakie and her grandmother: Sakie got spirited away to the boundary area by the evil bug in place of her grandmother. I do wonder why sometimes people can return if someone else takes their place, and what was up with seeing the grandma's head like that.

The ending dialogue about the parents confused me as well. What happened to Mariko in the end? Were they talking about Mariko's parents???
Was the grandma-faced balloon just a random tactic to add more supernatural horror to this arc or a red herring for the true baddie??

Also - whatever got our protags wasn't the same monster that got Sakie, I think. Or at least, the protags went through a different kind of spiriting away.

The last panel of her (in the previous chapter) had shadows that looked like a face.

(Plus the weird black filament thing at the very top)

(Same weirdness with the shadow and black thing at the first chapter of the arc. The park should be closed by then, so there shouldn't be that many people-shaped shadows. Plus, none of them are connected to anything - they'd be floating in the air.)

Meanwhile, the shadows when Hama and Yume disappeared looked more normal.

And I guess the 'you found your parents' thing is about the disappeared dad? Since it say the first time someone came back, it was a little girl because her dad had switched place with her so I guess that's where the MC's dad went? Maybe she saw him there offscreen?

Putting aside the resolution (i don't get if Yukie got to come back or not) this story felt like a return to form. It's been a while since the scope of the menace was this small, and the issue could be solved with some good old violence. Plus i've noticed the art has been improving, Yume and Nagomi are looking cute! Thanks for the translation.

I think there is just the one entity, the vampire mosquito. That is also what is spiriting people away, to its dimension.

I think the balloon head grandma was just the grandma wandering around the outer boundary of that dimension. We can see various images and shadows representing things on the other side. And it seems like if you are not yet fully taken, you're in the "boundary". Yume's and Hama's shadows were still very strong right after they were taken, indicating that the images are strong while in the boundary. While in the boundary, you can still escape if you know the way without someone having to switch with you.

So she's wandering around looking at the other dimension, an image of her as a balloon head is leaking through, and as she gets fully taken, the balloon head shrinks and disappears.
