the trick is just to be not afraid and one way to not become afraid is to describe what you perceive as supernatural as something else.
Because Daidai is so stupid, she can't even recognize normal vehicles and press the correct button for them, let alone supernatural occurrences. Also, when she is being called by her senpai, her focus is directed at other things (remembering the sake she made) so what saved Daidai here is her stupidity and her half-assed work.

The trick is to associate what you see with something to remove the fear of the object. If you take too long to associate it and "destroy it" then you'll vanish / die. So yes, if you get too scared its game over.
