The manager stopped seeing her by making excuses that he's always working the night shifts now, but the real reason is because Yumi (who was most likely conceived from the affair) was around. Mom couldn't control her hunger for manager's Pocky so she killed Yumi, thinking that it would get the manager to start coming again.
