There is a shocking amount of heart in this series; way more than I ever expected it to. Atsumu's outlook on life and other people is something worth commending, and it honestly keeps this otherwise mediocre series from floundering. I wasn't expecting the "delinquents" to actually have that much depth to them (they were just dudes who misunderstood themselves and tried to be what they weren't all because of society's general opinion on guys who look like them), and Atsumu handling everything like a fucking adult (actually talking shit out instead of the one-note "beat up delinquents, go about business" that's so commonplace) is exceedingly refreshing.

My initial gut feeling on this wasn't wrong. Let's hope that things will get better with time, story-telling wise. At least, it felt like this chapter actually had some fucking meat to chew on and savor instead of being thrown leftover scraps with a few new tidbits.

I'll just chock up the first volume of this manga to be typical "new mangaka doesn't know how to fucking start a story" and is now getting into their stride.

I mean idk why western manga readers dog on "betrayed by hero party" genre so much anyways. Like sure it's not an uncomon trend but it's also not litterally every new manga, and people getting mistreated despite their contribution is also not at all just fiction.

And first chapter was fast but his family being cartoonishly evil can and will be fleshed out so it's not like we ll never get an explanation

That aside litterally dragging the opponent to talk after beating them is a power move
