I don't remember Sorawo making any such promisses with Satsuki. Am I missrembering a detail from a previous chapter or is she gaslighting us?

I can't remember whether it made it into the manga or not, but it's a detail from when they're getting Runa out of the Otherside and Satsuki grabs her hair.

I think Satsuki's supernatural attraction is sort of tied to lookism. You know, Sorawo's whole "When she looked at me, it was a kind of violence" thing with Toriko early on. It's that Satsuki is attractive and seductive in the way she talks, which naturally pulls one's interest towards her, no matter how horrible her behavior might end up being. That sort of bleeds into how she's depicted here, since the art really makes an effort here to portray her as attractive and draw the reader's attention to her eyes and facial features.

Sorawo can easily recognize her as an abusive personality based on what Kozakura and Toriko have said, and even says as much with the "shadow walking toward you on the road in the evening" monologue. But I think there's also a hint of attraction + a desire to understand how she behaves to see what Toriko saw in her. Thematically, I think the encounter here is sort of projecting Sorawo's fear that when she meets Satsuki, she'll get pulled in too.

Well, it might also be a translation thing, describing someone as "alpha" isn't making me doing anything but roll my eyes.

This isn't really a translation thing - there's only so much one can do with「アルファ　フィメール」. I guess you could maybe do "dominant woman" or something without getting the mixed-up animal behavior stuff involved, but a) the book and manga translations already did "alpha female" long ago and b) I wouldn't want to disappoint the omegaverse fans that this terminology has spawned in the fandom

It is not that complicated, and certainly not supernatural (well before she got assimilated into the Otherside).

This is more or less what I'm getting at - she's described that way outside the context of the supernatural, so while it can to an extent be hand-waved away with that it's a bit of a crap explanation.

Since we've not gotten a reason anyone would like her, and we've never been given an impression of her apart from her being an obviously awful person, it makes all the talk about how she charms people just come off silly.

I'm not really too into this series, so I may not remember properly, but have we ever seen Satsuki be anything other than...intensely dislikable?

I can't buy the "alpha female" crap when her showing up just leads to me wishing she'd go away again.

sure, there's that, but also-- much more simply-- the story (at least the original novel) is entirely from Sorawo's deeply biased POV, and... well, she fuckin hates Satsuki, without seeing even a single good thing about her, so of course the reader doesn't get any of the "from the heart" info from Toriko (or anyone else)'s POV that would make you feel anything but hatred and terror towards her. She quite literally only appears in Sorawo's life to cause all kinds of stress and trouble, so of course Sorawo (and thus, you, the reader) want her to fuck right off and never return. Even in this chapter where Sorawo is kinda "talking her up" so to speak, with how oddly compelling she's being despite Sorawo hating her ass from the jump, it's mostly just implying/revealing exactly what Sorawo is feeling at this moment: that she wasn't just a charismatic person with unknown goals or whatever; she fucking brainwashed everyone to lead them to horrible fates, with (at least what seems like) blatant malice behind it, so you'll hate her every bit as much as Sorawo does lol

My main point toward this is mainly that in this chapter, no matter how much Sorawo psych herself up to not talk to her, not take interest to her and ignore her, she utterly fail at that, despite having, as you said, a deep dislike of Satsuki, so I can only chalk it up to the supernatural, even if it's possibly Sorawo will failing her, but she's shown to be pretty fucking stubborn about a lot of thing, so I put less stock on that theory.
Of course, Satsuki could have developed this ability of her after fully integrating with the otherside, but I feel like her having it before that point map pretty well with what we've been shown so far.
