One of the bears conveniently died due to injuries apparently not caused by him. That was awfully convenient (did he stealthily attack it with a spell?) but I'm disappointed that Lily had to see that. Well, he did used to live in a town full of scoundrels, so I still suspect he did it.

In the end, it was a hitting two birds with one stone moment: Weiss gets the materials while Lily gets herself a pet, but I'm a little disturbed at how quickly the cub adapted to its new situation.

Now let's address the elephant in the room: there's this new girl named Kaya, who looks like the tanned tomboy type, asks to go to the capital to test him, and clearly will get Ziegline jealous next chapter. If Holo miraculously reappears at some point too, then the ingredients for a harem is here... but no I don't want that. This story doesn't need a harem, please.
