Since salmiak (ammonium chloride) is salt, you are absolutely correct. It makes a fabulous drink, mixed with booze, usually sweetened.

Lily previously said she loves Holo, but now Ziegline has practically caught up in that department. Kids can easily be bribed, after all and Ziegline is pulling off the pay-to-win tactics on her way to becoming Lily's mommy.

Interestingly, she's the closest Weiss has to a childhood friend. Wonder what that means for her chances, but considering she's well positioned to win... hey at least the "childhood friend" isn't losing again if she can pull it off against the dense Weiss.

On a side note, as much as I like Holo and want her to be Lily's mom, I'm well aware she's basically a tutorial NPC and unlikely to be the female lead. So the story basically used her to show Weiss has unintentional charisma that can make women swoon without him even trying. I'd love to be proven wrong and have her back in the story though. I'll forgive a love triangle to get her back in the race.

Oh noes, Weiss is full-on spoiling Lily now. She's completely become daddy's little princess.

This could easily have been a typical high school magic academy romcom where the "rom" is all teasing and no progress, but it's interesting that we basically started the story after all that has already happened in the past. A storytelling choice I don't see too often. As for the progress part, well Ziegline will have to continue working hard for it.
