Because if we say the start of the chapter is the morning after, then all that happens is they take a bath...and then get ready to go back to bed? It's hard to tell from the tones used in the backgrounds what it is at any given point -- take the windows shown on pages 9 and 10 as an example.

Forget having an 8 hour work shift if the day is only like 9-10 hours long to start with...

You missed the thought bubbles in page 11, so is him remembering what he did the moment he got home with her until the moment he woke up the next morning (as a reminder he forgot to take her to the bathroom), so page 4 to page 11 is giving you a flashback of sorts

But hiatus? What's the reason for the hiatus?

Also if real life child could be this calm, I would find them cute as well.
As someone who has lil experience with helping with taking care of someone else child, I don't think real life child can be as cute as kids in most manga.

The premise of that novel seems interesting, but after seeing some spoiler I kinda lose my interests.
