This is true, but we can see through her background that she is a librarian quiet girl that is from a wealthy family, she probably never fought anyone before, and when confronted she did put down her wand, i think this is more of a character problem than her skill as a magician.But she's a wizard that had to graduate from Magic School and can actually cast spells.
