It’s early in the story so it’s hard to say whether his bio mom just feels responsible for her son, or if she has any real affection for him. Is she paying because she cares, or is it basically hush money to keep quiet? She doesn’t seem to be keeping any close tabs on the kid, so it’s hard to say.

I can’t imagine how the kid will react towards his mother when he finds out everything (and he will)… I’m sure he’ll forgive his father/uncle pretty much immediately though.

Uncle is clearly not spending the money he’s been sent given their run down place. My guess is that every penny the mother is giving to uncle is going into a savings account that he’ll give to the kid when he finds out everything. Kid probably won’t want it either since it’s dirty money.

If they wanted to it would be easy to blackmail the actress but clearly she’s a dogshit human being so uncle is just trying to keep them apart as long as possible.

She probably has regrets. I think it'll come down to weather she sincerely wants to make a connection, though I doubt they'll ever have more than a cordial relationship in the end.

I think that finding out that he was consciously discarded by his mother after his real father died is a pretty devastating revelation. He’s a kind and warm kid, but there are limits.

I’m also curious about how he feels about women and love, since he seems to keep women at arms length.

It's a complicated situation for her honestly because raising Towa alone wasn't just giving up her dream but also giving up her entire life. Remarrying isn't an option either since he's so young hence why giving him up seemed to be the "best" option to her at the time. She absolutely has regrets hence why she's using money to self justify her selfish decision. She could have just revealed that she had a kid the entire time and that she's trying to raise them alone but at the same time this puts a lot of stress on Towa and he's just a kid. It's a REALLY shitty situation for Towa but at the same time this decision ultimately lead to him having a normal and loving parent, if she had raised him she might have eventually resented having to look at the "thing" that stole her dreams.

It’s a real mess because the “mom” did a lot more damage than just leaving that kid without a mother. She also made it more or less impossible for the uncle/dad to have a family of his own, or maybe a different career path.

Remember those comment to uncle/dad at the bar about making a mistake with women? He’s a good looking man, so I’d expect he was in a relationship at the time he took in Towa and it ended in a messy way as a result.

The actress gets to have her dreams come true but she’s taken things from both of them that can’t be measured by money. She doesn’t seem to feel even remotely guilty about it either. In my book she’s a monster.

Also, this might be a long shot, but I believe that Towa already knows or suspects some of these things.
