I thought he was more stoic and she was more meek than this. This chapter feels a bit out of place.
Talking about who has more power in the relationship, he lost his agency, and I'm pretty sure that permanent 30% discount is a crime.
I'm hoping this is her being giddy about the situation and things will calm down, so I can continue reading this, the one chapter I didn't like was only ch8 up to now, and I quite like the rest, would be a shame to have to drop this. Thought someone mentioned a femboy so I guess this might just be not for me...
Agreed, especially coming on the heels of the previous chapter, in which she displayed some wisdom very uncommon--especially among women. She set herself above the average with that, and now seems to be throwing herself back down to it; it also seems Sandai is thereby at least nearing the path to becoming a(nother) pathetic, spineless JP male MC--ironically,
after he gets the girl.
Speaking of wisdom, what she apparently (like you, I'm
hoping she was being facetious) wants to do is foolishness common among women today--she's looking to be the dominant force in her relationship, which is unhealthy in two ways. The first is a reversal of their natural roles, unhealthy for both of them; it's best exemplified by a hypothetical confrontation in their lives, in which some aggressive male starts making moves on Shino in Sandai's presence or otherwise proves a threat to her. Shino will naturally look to a man for help, but what will she find at her side? No help, only a male already in submission to her, looking to
her in hopes of extrication from that conflict because
she's the one in control--she's the one with the "reins" in that relationship. The second way such a modus operandi is unhealthy (and in this case, for Shino primarily) is the attendant fact that she's not actually getting over her (apparent) androphobia--this way, she's proving herself incapable of getting along with males if she can't dominate them.
Shino's very obviously no male--her femininity is like a mound of pop rocks, conspicuously eye-catching, effervescent, and sweet--but this way, she's trying to be a man, and Sandai will have to take the role of female to accommodate her.
Assuming she wasn't serious about "taking the reins", that is. lol Once again, I hope not; if she is, then Sandai being a femboy later on would make sense, and there'd be no reason for me to continue reading. There are already too many manga with effeminate male MCs, and this one wouldn't be treading new ground--it'd certainly stop being wholesome, that's for sure.
