i don't understand, why would sutegama guess usogui's beads to be 10 when the first guess usogui made in the dotty was 10. was there a possibility of having 0 beads in the dotty game? or is it just that at the end sutegama stopped thinking or something seeing he all about survival at that point and his basic instincts were only working. That whatever he sees, is definitely wrong and the truth is warped up in some kind of way. Please someone explain why would sutegama think usogui has 10 beads? have i missed something here?
As clarified by 299792458, Usogui’s first choice was 11. Also, there couldn’t be 0 beads since the rules stated that each player must pick one or more beads. So, why did Suteguma guess that the total was 10?
After Usogui told everyone that his number wasn’t 6 or 7, that eliminated 6, 7, and also 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, because Suteguma knew he had 9 beads. When combining both of their numbers, 9 + 1 = 10 (which couldn’t be since it was already eliminated), 9 + 2 = 11 (no), 9 + 3 = 12 (no), and so on up to 7. Since the guess of 8 was a bluff, only two options remained — 9 and 10.
And because Ranko gave the beads to Suteguma, the number amounted to 9, and as you said, his basic instinct is that everything in this world is a difficult task, so he was left with only one option — 10. Also, if you’re confused about 10 being eliminated earlier, it referred to the
combination of both players’ beads, not the number 10 itself.
