I feel like Yokoi right now with his reaction regarding the placement trick.
It's a bit hard to believe that trick wasn't found out sooner, especially since Oofuna was pretty casual about where in the square he'd press. And that's regardless of what direction Lacy placed his ships. Ehh... I guess Lacy was just lucky up to this point.
@saxifraga I think the point is that because it was a person like Gakuto, who we consider to be "average" in gambling, the trick wasn't found out sooner. Were it Hachina, or even Kaji honestly, I think Lacy would have been beaten much faster.
Now I wonder what Hachina's going to do since he's fulfilled his end of the deal with Gakuto.
I thought one cell gap between ships is a basic rule, like number of ships or shapes.
I mean, that trick is cheating, but this is super cheating.
As if in the middle of the labyrinth game you suddenly can jump over walls.
Remember, this is still Gakuto's first Kakerou gamble. Kaji took a long time to develop into the guy he is now and was helped along by Baku at the start too. Oofuna has a great sense about him to learn on the fly just like Kaji did, a few more gambles and he'd probably become just as competent.
I've never heard of that rule, and quick searches haven't shown me that sort of rule either. Have the battleships games you played used that condition?
