@esotericgravity @Veshv no no, it was Baku's for sure. IIRC it's also the same dream / flashback where a silhouette (I suspect Baku's dad) in front of many other silhouettes (referees) said something like "you don't need these guys / these guys don't matter" - not the exact words.

It may have happened during air poker, I'll update here when I have the time to look for it.

Chapter 462, the results of the final round of Air Poker. No mention of "my child", and I think a lot of people ended up just assuming the silhouette was Baku himself, but with his hair actually styled. It could be a different person, but I have my doubts of it being Baku's father in particular.

@Veshv @tripledraw oh I see, that chapter. my interpretation of that was that it was Baku's "perfect version of himself" and it was a parallel to Kaji facing and getting rid of the Usogui in his head (Contradiction game) and Hal facing his Kiruma/Leader persona in his head and taking his memories back -- Hal getting rid of the "unnecessary wedge of pain" and Kaji getting rid of his "unnecessary desire to die and be useful to Usogui". Also seemed like a contrast to Kyara accepting his unnecessary desire to see Usogui win (beyond just fighting to win for his own sake) and doing whatever he could to ensure that.
personally I consider Baku to be an ubermensch like Lalo and Arata, and that the author doesn't want to show more of their backstory beyond how it relates to other characters (Baku-Hal/Kyara, Lalo-Voja, Arata-developers) so as to make it seem like Baku, Arata, and Lalo have always been these figures that are mentally superior to all the people around them. of course, I could totally be off the mark with that and there is not enough concrete evidence to support that thinking anyway. if it is Baku's dad that would certainly be an interesting way to explore more of Baku's backstory.

@Veshv @esotericgravity I had a look and you both were right, it wasn't in the air poker chapter.

The panel I'm referring to is literally just one small black panel with an unknown voice saying something like "not my child" or "give me back my child" - it was part of a larger dream / flashback and very easy to miss. It may have happened much earlier in the manga, perhaps before Protoporos began.

I only started reading a couple months ago but I remember this clearly because I made a comment on the bottom of the chapter itself. Unfortunately it was on a different site and not easy to find. I will try to find it for you guys when I get home tonight.

Edit: I may have confused it with the air poker chapter because there was another silhouette smoking a cigar in that flashback, which I had thought was (also) Baku's father.

Edit 2: Somehow I was really sure it was part of Baku's nightmare, after Yakou and Bai Long had theirs. But now I noticed Baku's "nightmare" wasn't shown anywhere near that chapter (420 - 423?). So perhaps it's in a more recent chapter? Really hard to find one tiny panel when the narrative goes back and forth in time so much...

Edit 3: I stand corrected. The panel I had in mind actually said "Marco... return him", which I think is just a dream about the grudge of Baku's victims (https://mangadex.org/chapter/204680/2). However, I still have yet to find that silhouette with a white suit and cigar which made me suspect about Baku's father, will update here when I come across it after a re-read (eventually).
