At first I was eh on the ending but the longer I've thought about it the more I've come to dislike it. The final destination style plot point was dropped, plain and simple. There were SEVERAL chapters that imply or outright say that fate wants these people to die and Satsuki changing it will lead to something major and nothing really came from it. Feels like clickbait or a dropped plot point but I'm dissatisfied all the same.
Komachi and Miho's relationship was hardly touched after the first half of the story, Miho's disdain of Komachi still makes hardly any sense especially when you consider she's the only person Miho physically harassed as opposed to trash talk.
The story trying to convince me Satsuki is closer to Komachi is just infuriating. She spent most of the series past chapter 15, in the background, occasionally being creepy. Meanwhile Akira was the actual secondary protag/heroine. She actually did things and had real chemistry with Satsuki. She was the first to make Satsuki feel like she wasn't a liar and has saved her life and mind several times over. But no, the bundle of dropped plot points and exposition that is Komachi is treated like she was the best girl all along.
I also disliked Miho as a character. She did some good but spent most of the series as an unrepentant bully and the series kind of just glosses past it. In a similar vein, I hated Seo. Not from in a "She's an evil character" way but in the "She's poorly written" way. For one she completely validates, the president's ideology. If she died the first time none of the major conflicts by the end would've occurred. And when given a chance to redeem herself she doesn't even take it. And don't let me get started on the "Nobody gave me a chance" bs she tried to spew. She was a psycho "bully" (what she did went beyond just bullying tbh) who made several people's lives hell. They have every right to hate and want to get back at her. Yes, murder is too much but outside of the prez nobody actively tried to kill her. Years of bullying doesn't get overturned by months of memory loss. And her being so ready to kill the prez, vice prez, and ENTIRE SCHOOL proves she was always evil and crazy.
I'm also astonished that Miho never brought those texts with Michiru to anyone else, they vindicated Michiru and actually placed a dent in the prez's idealogy. It would've done so much for several characters to see that Michiru was indeed being used and was just a lonely and stupid girl. Especially the prez who early on was doing his whole justice schtick. (8/10) manga that became a (4/10) 60 chapters in. Not trash but a bit below average.
