Better than the printed books, half of the 4 volumes I bought are too dark to see anything.

Interesting, do you have any pictures? Do you know if the print you bought is the same as the official Japanese print? I recall the same issue with the (first) English version of BLAME.

The photo is a bit brighter than reality and I'm under natural light so it's kinda readable, but if you're reading at night with a weak light you have to really concentrate to see something. Even if I've read the scans, the fight with the executor (they translated their name in the first volume has 'condamned' btw) was mostly unreadable. But the other 'normal' scenes seem to be ok, I think they wanted to do something like 'muh somber darkness'.

That almost looks like a printing production error, like the wrong level of halftone was used. As if they were using less detailed second gen scans instead of working from original digital plates/artwork.

I really like the colouring, but I have to concur that the style is out of place. This is a bleak world so having these occasional super saturated panels feels jarring after just under thirty monochrome chapters. Might work better if it was fully coloured or if this gimmick was present since the start, though, regardless, I would go for a very dark and muted palette personally.

Thanks for also uploading the black and white versions, I will stick with those.

I think something like the coloring of volume cover would work nice - it's like monochrome, but with different color from black in some places

Thank you for the chapter, I personally like the colouring but you should've added "fan coloured" instead of just "coloured"
