I’m starting to hate Reka as a character. If she just apologizes later on and everything turns out well, I’m going to be so disappointed.

I bet you that's what will happen, because the main characters are so apathetic and toothless. They might grumble about it for a bit, but I'm sure they'll be all buddy buddy.

best case scenario - these two will die or disappear by the end of this stupid arc and we can get back to what was good about this manga
worst case scenario - one of the new main characters is an armoury attached to an android, and that means we're just gonna have stupid action scenes

Sadly, the author has shown to have more and more of a boner for action scenes, so I fear they're going to be a permanent and increasingly prevalent fixture now, especially with OPdroid and Hammer Girl into the picture.

Chances are that in the chaos of the war, the Ushimitsu Institute stole or already had, but they perfected the EC process.

Someone higher up didn't like what Daigiren was planning, so they changed how things were planned to go. Leaving a whole system to take care of the child wasn't the most difficult thing, considering the level of tech they have.

So... fortunately, some people had the moral integrity to not use Saya as a vessel, but they left her as a steward for any possible survivor... or at least for the legacy of humanity.
