As I expected, I would quickly develop a distaste for Sakakai who isn't a wingman, but more like a torpedo that'll sink the ship before it even sets sail. However, I unexpectedly like Asai-senpai and how she gave Sakakai the what-for. So-called best friends who get their jollies out of meddling in their friends affairs really irritate me. Oh, please, mangaka, don't keep going down that route...

I fucking love these references.
by the way, the effort involved with the typesetting, I would mistake it for a legitimate translation if slipped in.

Wow the dude is totally aware that both of them are trying to get him and Uzaki together.

Also nice Mastodon reference.

Did I miss something? Where did Asai say she wants them to suffer?
I'm agreeing pretty much with @FredFriendly, everything has been pretty wholesome up until when that Sakaki guy showed up.

In this chapter alone Asai said to Sakaki that the right thing to do is to observe them from afar.
And then there is Ch.9 P5, Asai: "Dad...", Dad: "Yeah it's actually more fun if we just leave them alone."

Also, Asai wants them to become a couple and succeed: "Your attacks might nip the bud before it can even bloom".
She isn't manipulating anything but merely watching their relationship unfold without having any part in it.
