Younger me would've been drawn into the MC's suffering, all that rage and sorrow. But now I see just how much he has going for him, how good his friends are. This is where someone should go and slap him in the face, and make him see, but I'm glad that's not happening. In real life it never does.

@Mizumachi don't want to post spoilers, but my assumptions about what was going on in the MC's mind this chapter were wrong. He didn't need that slap after all. Maybe. Love how unpredictable this story can be at times.

@Mizumachi aw, I can't disagree but I can't agree either. The story definitely seems to be heading in that direction, and it's doing it very well, so I can't complain. But I hope he doesn't become a stereotypical good guy, some degree of cunning and callousness in a prota is always refreshing to see.

Again: How did he not expect his uncle to come back and abuse her again?
The least he could've done it put someone on watch for her.
