@nobile nah I think that situation was of an abusive couple, if it was a robber the guy would have taken her things before anyone alerted the authorities. But yeah, it was a couple, and people dont want to bother with things like that, especially in asian countries, since its supposed to be a private matter between couples and you have to save face in public, but sometimes people see this happen and dont do anything. Simply put, the bystander effect; if no one does anything, then no ones will intervene.

It's because he wants to give him all the opportunities to be/do whatever he wants in life by making sure he does well while he's still young, but because of his own absolutely abysmal childhood, the only way he knows to do so - to give his son a future - is to make sure he's essentially "perfect". It's so sad
