"The perfect woman is right there in front of you, why won't you claim her?" - thought while she's sitting right in front of him and he's already claimed her at least twice, and left marks all over here that aren't going to be going away for days. I hope the humor was intentional, because that's the funniest line I've read in a while.
@Laughing_Snake
I hope they keep trading off who's the predator and who's the prey over the series - having both members of the main couple being the proactive "I know what I want and I'm
going to get it" type, for once, would be nice.
@sonyaism
On a related note, last chapter's 'covered in hickeys from the neck down' originally seemed like just an extra topper on the "oh god, what did I do last night?" wakeup, but with the reveal that it actually just feels good for him to touch her due to their opposed elements, it makes a lot of sense that he was absolutely all over her, which is a bit more subtlety than I expected.
It's still damn hilarious that
he's somehow the composed one in the morning, given how obviously wild he went the night before, and the fact that he remembers it all clearly and doesn't even have the excuse of being drunk.
@firegoddess
He's been really up front about the fact that he doesn't want sex without a relationship since she first came onto him. Some guys just really aren't comfortable having physical intimacy without a relationship beyond that, for various reasons.
@Roiya
If he'd never even held hands with a water mage before, and her touch is magically pleasurable to him due to their opposing elements, that actually goes a long way toward explaining why he went from "you're drunk - let me get someone to help you" to thinking this was all a great idea very soon after she kissed him and started touching him. Seems like he had the good old "parched man in a desert finds water" reaction.
