I'm not even mad about her wasting money (which is also super unnecessary, dumb, and unrealistic) but she's literally spending it on buying a slave--meaning that money is going to slave owners and auctioneers who sell slaves. She's literally contributing 10x more to support of the slave trade than she had to...I fucking can't bruh. She's obviously horrified by the treatment of slaves, so wouldn't it make sense to give the minimum possible money to the people who enslave them, torture them, and treat them like commodities?

This shit so dumb lmao. I don't know why fantasy authors always have the MC who we're supposed to care about directly supporting slavery. If you think for two seconds about the whole 'buying slaves because you feel bad for them' trope it doesn't make any sense. She's funnelling 100 million gold from her kingdom directly into human trafficking, essentially guaranteeing that the business continues for some time. Basically, our MC just sentenced a bunch of probably innocent people to a (short) life of slavery to ensure her own protection. What a hero.
