For reference about Askeladd's move that Thorfinn mentions.

It's from chapter 46 and it has been a really long time since that happened.

Fk off Hild. Can you stop repeating the same thing over and over at least once?

In a series about character progression, Hild's stagnation of (Thorfin I will kill u!) makes me groan every time. Why does the author waste their time? What has it added to this arc? We're in the middle of an awesome moment and then the author has to remind us that Thorfin's life 'belongs' to someone else.

BRUH HE HIT HIM SO HARD HE HAD A FLASHBACK LMAO
Also, I feel like, at this point, Hild wouldn't dare kill Thorfinn. Feels almost like she keeps saying that just to feel like she still has control over the situation when Thorfinn has continued to do basically whatever the fuck he wants, she's basically a glorified bodyguard at this point and she knows it. She's also a literal manifestation of the ramifications of Thorfinn's past. We already know about the hell-like portrayal of Valhalla Thorfinn saw, and the ghosts that follow him, but you can only hold onto metaphorical danger for so long and maintain legitimate stakes.

I personally hope they dont meet again, cant stand Garm, he is the stereotypical antagonist i detest the most, but of course they will as they are "friends" now.

Whatever, i dunno the manga feels so different than it did 50 chapters ago, it felt more grounded, as grounded as one guy taking down 30 men can be, yet now we got Sigurd and his fat friend running around knocking down guards while inside barrels and time for some marital discussion while holding a kid hostage plus Hild who just seem to be reduce to be a plot device as an extra barrier for Thorfinn to not kill. Anyway seeing Askeladd's tricks being used by Thorfinn is cool enough to compensate.

jesus christ, why was garm literally goku as a kid? casually being capable of killing adults? bleh... I saw him as less cool thorkell before, and that flashback didnt help with that at all. he likes to kill, nuff said.

I dont detest hild, she's younger thorfinn in a nutshell. and though you can argue her saying the same shit over and over is getting repetitive, that was literally what thornfinn was doing in the beginning, he didnt develop AT ALL for a very long time until farmland saga started, I WANNA DUEL I WANNA DUEL, DUEL ME Askaladd! so im fine with her cause she will develop eventually

what i didn't like was her claiming she'd kill thorfinn if he'd kill garm. why? the floki situation makes a ton of sense, but how is this the same. some battle crazed maniac wants to fight you, and you might have to kill him in self defense. it isnt for revenge, or random pillaging or slaughter in this case. Now obviously Thorfinn himself doesnt want to kill anyone, which is fine, but how did that idea get into hild's head, such that if he kills ANYONE he has to die? i dont remember that promise happening.

Damn, only character I like anymore is Thorkell. Can't really stand anyone else at this point. For being a battle crazed lunatic he is literally the only character who still holds depth similar to how the first 100 chapters were.

While I'm not saying the series is bad I just can't get behind most of the characters a easily as it used to be. For fuck sake the author managed to make us like bloodthirsty killers in the first 100 chapters.

There's great references and character development in here, but most of it is muddled by annoying characters and repetitive conversations and actions. The story still hasn't picked up, and the author is super reluctant to finish the arc.

Since Askeladd passed, this manga has been disappointing. Enjoyable, yes, but it lost its identity. When Thorfinn obtained the goal to reach Vinland, we wanted him to complete it, not constantly get sidetracked. I'll keep reading, but I probabl won't look out for updates.

wtf the author is going with the direction he foreshadowed from literally the very beginning? wtf noooooooo!!! i want this to be berserk!!!

Is he? This arc feels like a massive step back from farmland arc.
