You don't give a fuck that the dude behind the group (trashscanlations) is begging for donations so that they'll have enough money for their new site that put (some?) of their ""translated"" manga behind a paywall? That's some cuck shit. I hope it comes to the point that 99% of readers don't give a fuck about "drama" while quality of the scans keep going down, while TS begs for donations/puts up paywalls. That would be great. I also can't wait for TS to build up enough capital from donations that they'll be capable of strong-arming other (better) scan groups, pushing them out so that they'll have a monopoly (that's what they plan to do with eventually going legal, as Dru stated himself).
But as long as it's barely legible, it's fine, right? Doesn't even matter if there's mistranslations because who gives a fuck about that, that's just "drama". Mistranslations and scummy shit is just "drama", who cares about that. Just leave us readers alone. Dumbass people who care, lmao.

I don't care about it at all. They can ask for donations, people can donate or not. It's their own choice. I don't care what TS spends that money on.Scalating is in the gray anyway. I have no real posibility to buy manga/novels where I live and I cant support author directly. If there was something like crunchyroll for mangas (but without regional restrictions) I could support authors that way. I never donated to TS a single penny (also can't as I do not own credit card), so the only thing I can do is thank them for their work and uploding teir work to mangadex.
When you check the number of people that read that chapter and a number of people that comments, you will see just how little people care about all this drama.

The biggest problem I see with TrashScans wanting to 'make it big' is that it reminds me of all the private gaming servers that have been shut down because the people that hosted them stopped being 'for fun (donations optional)' groups of fans and became 'for profit' organizations that drew the attention of the copyright gods. Once you start making enough of a profit, you get noticed, and then everyone pays the price (one way or another).
I don't want to see my favorite manga sites get taken down like so many music, tv, gaming, and torrent sites were for the same reason: someone got too greedy and attracted the attention of Mr. BigCorporateGreed. They wont partner with TS, they wont buy them out, they'll come in and wreck everything we love and leave us wishing we had paywall and chapter hording problems -_-...
They assume that by making their goods inaccessible we'll go out and buy them (which studies have proven is false) when the truth is we have more value in advertising and trend setting and eventual purchase of our favorites that we never would have discovered if it weren't for piracy. Even if it's for this reason only, I support the sniping no group.
Keep it fan based, keep it real, keep it small, keep it under the radar; yarrr.

That's already a given that most of the community (myself definitely included) are just leechers . I can't help that. What i'm calling you out for is for shitting on the ones who do care about all of these things. Sorry for being inconvenienced, for making you take an extra 10 seconds to skip the "drama", I don't see why you should put their efforts down though. The group who sniped TS' shit do not agree with TS' ways. They're trying to do something about it because they think (like I and some others do) it sucks and they think it will negatively affect the "scene", whatever the fuck that is.
So that's their reason for all the sniping and drama. I don't see how your comment contributes anything, "as a leecher, I don't care about the drama" then don't fucking comment then? It's not even a "sorry but most readers don't care", the hostile tone is even more annoying "You know we don't give a fuck about your drama right?" You don't have to drag everyone else (the ones who care) down with you/encourage everyone else into passively accepting bullshit.

I understand what you mean. Now let me explain why am I hostile in this particular situation.
On one side you have TS - big group doing a lot of scalating, translating many titles, most of them quite entertaining. You know who they are, you know where to find them. They are fairly consistent with releases and have schedule and rules of releases. On other side you have anonymous snipers, we don't know shit about them just that they want to start shitstorm on TS account. Now snipers just release few chapters of one series saying there are 20 more that TS is hiding. Then you see no release from them at all, they just snipe another series with 1-2 chapters. Do you expect them to continue? I don't. I think there are here to do they own agenda and will drop the series not caring about it if the dust settles. Now if drama goes overboard TS might drop series because of sniping or their unstable emotions. That leaves us with cool story that no one takes care of for few months until some legit group starts translating it. Anonymous snipers are the only one that will be happy with this outcome and community will be hit the most.
On the other hand if snipers went with different strategy f.e.They would make new team that would pick up the titles that TS is holding back and just translate all of those chapters until all raws that are available + explain why they do that as a protest. That's totally ok with me. They would really make things better for community.
It is so easy to destroy other peoples work and then just not care about any of the outcomes. Its much harder to actually build on something. Those guys from no-group act like terrorists instead of making competition for TS, and people could choose then. Here we are left at the grace of TS and their moods. I don't expect no-group will take any responsibility -.-

I vote we leave it like how LHTranslations and that one /a/nonymous do it for "5Toubun no Hanayome". Neither really get pissed off at each other to my knowledge, if they have before and I didn't notice it then my bad, and both just keep consistently release their version of the translation when they can. What's your thought on that approach @Yamibi , since I noticed your prof. pic there when reading the latest chapter's comments to make sure there was no arguing from last I knew.

Wow so much drama. I dont know much about this other than pay wall and some copyright issue..
From what ive seen before a good example would be wuxiaworld. They do have paywall but at the same time they allow daily free release. if you want more, you buy vip. It seems more fair that way. As well, they also have bought rights to translate to protect themselves. That is obvious for any business. But if your business model revolves around people "buying" your translations, there is going to be a black market, and you will lose profits. Better off giving freebies and then having a VIP like system.

please keep in mind that i am not part of trash and i do not know about their internal stuff but i am scanlating shit for some years already now so i can tell you how stuff works without knowing about it in detail

And if that is the case, the fact that there will be gems or whatever to buy for accessing chapters faster, it's totally reasonable and not really something to be hating on.
If you don't know what qidian/webnovel is, you might want to do a bit of research because i am not going to spoon feed anyone.

Opportunists wanting attention they may be but a lot of what they said actually has some weight to it and shows that Trash scans has been doing some pretty crummy things. Its funny in a way how Trash scans started with Allen translations, one guy translating Peerless martial god for free because he loved it at an incredible speed (until he caught up with the raws). Then he found another Manhua that he liked called Apothesis.
Apothesis at the time was being translated by Angelic scans who released only 2 chapters with six months in between them. So Allen started his own translations and released 8 chapters within a week. Of course Angelic scans took offence to this and demanded Allen stop while they released their 3rd and 4th chapter of Apothesis they had been sitting on but didn't release because their wasn't enough donations coming in. Allen politely waited before posting more chapters and came to a deal with them to take over the project (It seemed that way at least cause they never seemed to get back to Allen about it and just stopped posting Apothesis all together)
Well after that drama nugget it turned out they had been doing that for all their translations and was why they were notoriously slow when it came to releases. So most people just stopped going to Angelic scans and i haven't heard or seen anything from them since. At least Allen kept Translating what he picked up so people could still read their favorite ones but then life caught up with Allen and he had to put aside Translating which led to Trash scans founding. Why did i bring up this little history lesson you ask? Well Trash has become exactly what Allen had to deal with, with Angelic scans. Even some of their promotion cards are looking like Angelic scans with the placement of words and color themes.
Honestly it wouldn't be surprising now if Allen worked with former Angelic scans to make Trash scanlations so they can try to get their fan base back without the notoriety and see how much better they are from Angelic scans without charging us left and right. But they couldn't hold their greed in could they?
