As the title suggests. Anyone got any good and free (or pirateable) VPNs to suggest? Connecting to a lot of public networks recently so some extra security would be nice.

Good and free? That's difficult. I guess protonvpn would work but it's limited and you can't run P2P stuff

An ssh tunnel to your server or dns-over-xyz (https, tls, dnscrypt) + something against deep packet inspection would get you better security.

I started using Proton a bit after this post. It works good enough for me and I'm not tech savvy enough to even know what a P2P connection is so the restrictions mean nothing to me

I'd highly recommend proton vpn, I use it personally for my phone.

the only downside is that it's one device per free account, but alts negate that.
They have dedicated free servers that usually say they are full (and I don't doubt that), but I've never experienced any sort of speed limitations. Then again, I only ever look at Twitter or Instagram through it.

if you want a paid VPN surfshark and PIA are really good, should you decide on paying of course.
I have used both personally.

hope this helps :D
