Ya, i sorta agree with tye haste they did it...
I think it was a last minute cancelation and decided to cover the people who were in it... plus, he never did get the boar meat meal... too many open ends.
There were 250 chapters of the webnovel... The manga basically covered 65 chapters.
English translation only reached chapter 43...

If the story had continued after this then the issue with a summon being more powerful than all players leaves the story feeling like in another world with a smart phone, or any other broken op protag who gets everything they want. Since the story ended this issue became irrelevant since there is no longer any need to wrestle with it.
I mean, they literally just had the scandal where their first player tournament was won by an npc owned by a low level player. Who is overall bad at gaming and little playtime.
No. I am not confused their game ended in the userbase's backlash after that.

yup... As mentioned above probably Axe-kun.
There's a ton of slice-of-life MMO/Isekai mofumofu out there, and while this one was pretty nice, it wasn't exactly standing out in any way.
Japanese market be a harsh bloodbath, and all that...
As-is, they wrapped things up, and sent us off "Another Day, Another Log-in" style. Which is a lot better than most endings, really.

Considering the premise, that's about the expected ending. There's no real main plot to tie up, just a bunch of largely disjointed events and hopefully some character growth meanwhile.

The web novel was last updated at end of 2018 to beginning of 2019.
The Vol 5 LN was last published in Nov 9th 2019
and the manga vol 5 was released April 30, 2021 - almost 2 years now... I kept hoping while I was translating this that more would come, but no luck

VRMMO Summoner Hajimemashita <-- this is a link to the webnovel on syosetu.com... Its purely japanese so you would be only able to read it by Machine translation. Normally Chrome would give you an MTL version of each chapter.
Beyond that, the english translation was only up to chapter 43, which is before the tournament .
