Yes. At the core of Confucius' teaching is the continuation and preservation of Zhou Dynasty rituals. Since the Zhou Dynasty conducted ancestral worship, a lot of their rituals revolve around venerating the ancestors. This includes sacrifices done several times in the year, although later the rituals were simplified and only an annual sacrifice would be conducted. The Kong family, being descendants of the actual guy who insisted that people must follow the rituals, must therefore abide by their ancestor's teachings and conduct ALL the traditional sacrifices to him. The big one is usually in autumn.

The Taiwanese government considers itself the Republic of China (it still calls itself that) and by extension the rightful successor of the Qing Dynasty. Therefore, they have continued sponsoring the Kong family rituals as the Qing did. It's kinda ironic, because the ROC actually abolished the subsidy to the Kong clan for a while when they controlled the mainland.
