A classic of sorts. This is what "gender bender" manga used to be like before the conventions hardened into all of them being about the fetish-oriented "trap": Just a good romance manga where someone involved is cross-dressing for some weird reason, to give extra hooks for plot complications.

The story did NOT have to be 80 chapters long, but it's pretty cute. I still prefer Usotsuki Lily, but I'm Komura Ayumi's bitch so that's only natural. I did skip 60 chapters, the ending makes sense anyway because the characters don't really change...

It’s pretty good, but was definitely stretched out. Not that you won’t be entertained reading the chapters in-between the start and ending, but the tropes feel really repetitive after a while. Unlike Usotsuki Lily, this doesn’t have the charm needed to be both long and enjoyable. But I still like it for what it is

I read this when I was young (middle school ish) and I loved it, but after rereading it as an adult, I couldn't take the clichéd plot this story takes. The only thing I still like is the chemistry between the two main pairing. I also like how they started dating early on, so there's no stupid 'will they or won't they' drama that's typical on most shoujo.

The thing I don't like is that the obstacle to their relationship... is clichéd as fuck and over the top, sometimes without making sense. While I could read it when I was young, I can't really stomach these ridiculous plot as an adult. I had to stop rereading and skip to the ending (since I already read it before anyway).

If you don't mind overly clichéd story and are looking for a pair that stands equal, respect, and support each other, then you might like W Juliet. If you're tired of typical shoujo tropes, then you might not enioy reading this.
