So I usually steer clear of manga like this, but I stumbled across it while checking out the "pre of the heart" panel on another work's comment section. Let me tell you, I'm SO glad I did! This manga had me chuckling out loud.
The twist with Aimi's "true" identity was bittersweet, but I get where the dude was coming from. He had pure intentions at first, just wanting to express his admiration for his sister. But then his hormones started raging, and well, you know how fucking stupid teens can be! He meant well when suggesting the name, but it all went south real fast.
Now, don't get me wrong, the dude's relationship with his niece was hella inappropriate from the get-go. His sister had boundaries for a reason, and he straight up ignored them. Sure, he helped the kid explore her interests and stuff, but he also exposed her to a bunch of stuff she shouldn't be seeing at that age. And like, that scene making her wear a "more appropriate" swimsuit? Red flag much?
Anyway, I get why the niece had to move away. That dude was a hot mess, and it was only a matter of time before things blew up. The characters are flawed, but that's what made this manga so damn entertaining to me.
I wish the blonde editor and the protagonist could've ended together, but hey, you can't win 'em all! All in all, "WXY" is a wild, messy ride that'll make you think twice about family, personal growth, and the blurred lines between good intentions and straight up fuckery.
