A lot of movies right now are so scary (-ly dumb) that I don't bother paying to watch them in theaters. I wait to see if Ryan George puts out a pitch meeting for them, and depending on how the pitch meeting goes, I may watch it on streaming services or a rented blu-ray from Redbox later if they don't seem too dumb.
I'm scared of losing tons of money and wasting 2+ hours of my life for something that's one giant facepalm. Hollywood in particular has gotten so arrogant and braindead, and it hasn't gotten more ethical over the years either.
There's a reason that shorter form videos (not just Tiktok, but Youtube and other user-created viceo sites) are replacing traditional media, and that streaming is slowly killing movie theaters. Movies need to have an indie revolution the same way gaming is.
