I mean, I never really questioned how IRL it is. It isn't even necessarily romantic in nature even if it reads like shoujo trash, dude seems like he is genuine while unintentionally being a narcissistic asshole.

The problem is that he decided all her feeling for her when she told him otherwise, he insulted MC and her relationship with MC, telling her that he would be a better childhood friend and she didn't even acknowledge it and then now is meeting with MC when that guy is a stranger to him and an aquaintance to her.
I just don't get the point of a delusional prick thinking he is saving her on a white horse and nobody bats an eye and it is supposed to have any impact on anything. Not organic. Not enjoyable. Not good.

There's something about this manga's structure that I just find... odd.

Like, yes, I know there have been hiatuses, but after almost three years, I feel like we're nowhere near where we should be in the story, there isn't nearly enough development for everyone involved, and much less should we be dealing with this kind of drama at this point.
