No, the chapter is just doing a quick sprint through their past leading up to chapter 1. You can think of those particular pages as "fleshing out" other things that happened, while not repeating any of the scenes.

Yeah, it said she had to put on the tomboy facade, because he would immediately change and become unable to interact with her properly when she tried to be herself. So this isn't about a tomboy, but about a girl pushed to be in a tomboy role just so she can be close to him.

Which is why the bottom portion of page 8 is basically her going:

Wait too long, don't confess, don't take advantage of the advantage they have. Which is why they still win in mangas like these, since if they're the main character, the plot will wait for them. Being main girl means having plot armour.

I'm more under the impression that she plays those parts up and suppresses other parts. It's not like she doesn't have any tomboyish traits, but that doesn't mean it's all she is.

I just call them pseudo-harems. If the girls aren't in on everyone being in a relationship, it's not a harem.

In a series like this, though, she's fine.

That has more to do with her being the main girl than her being the childhood friend, which is basically the same as why they always lose. They're not the main girl.

That said, she kinda needs to make him be be the one to confess in this instance, because it was him specifically saying he was bad with girls that caused her to act like a boy.

This might be one of the more reasonable reasons for the girl to not confess. Most of the time the expectation is entirely on the guy for no good reason.

Hes uncomfortable around girls. Which means confessing to him and making him aware of you as a girl, could end up extremely bad.

It's extremely believable why she wouldn't want to push him passed his comfort zone.

Plus during the flashback he literally told her that she's easy for him to talk to for that specific reason, cause she acted like a boy
