@Nono215600 You problably didn't mean for that to be taken seriously, but I'm gonna indulge.

In this case, I'd say it's not gay as Eco is mentally and physically a woman, albeit disguised as a man; both main characters also know that she's a woman, so there's no "shit, am I gay" thinking from the guy. In stories such as the manga "Tokyo Crazy Paradise", it gets more complicated as the character Tsukasa, despite being biologically female, has grown up as a boy and feels like one; the guy lead knows (s)he's physically a woman, though, but Tsukasa sure doesn't identify with it. The ending gets a bit complicated, so can't quite tell if it'll change or if Tsukasa will stay the same (GREAT manga, though; lots of action and gangsters for a shoujo manga). Similarly would be the Tawainese drama "Bromance" where the main character has also grown up as a guy, but knows that (s)he's female and waiting for the day that (s)he can dress as such, but because of this, this person doesn't mind switching between the two identities such as Tsukasa does (Tsukasa feels like (s)he's cross-dressing when in women's clothes). Based on the ending, the female lead is pretty relaxed and can easily switch between the two identifies based on what (s)he feels like. Aslo, unlike in "Tokyo Crazy Paradise" where the lead guy knows Tsukasa is biologically female, in "Bromance", the lead guy doesn't realize it first and has a "oh shit, I'm gay" moment.

IN ANY CASE. The Chinese drama "Arsenal Military Academy" has a girl/woman dress up as a boy to enter the guys-only military academy, yet the drama as been censured so that any kissing scene between the two main leads have been cut because it looks like it's two dudes that are kissing despite it being a man and a woman.

So it aaaalll depends on how you look at it. But the Chinese government would say yes.
