Cool. First chapter made me think it will be a standard GL plot in historical setting, the kind riding heavily on forbidden and "sacrilegious" aspect of same sex relationships. Second one subverted that notion and transformed the miniseries into something of a coming of age story, with neat twist waiting at the end. There's a little character growth thrown in here, although it occurs without reconciliation with, or understanding of the past, so the ending can be either hopeful or depressing, depending how you look at it.
Drawings are good and their rough aspect helps in conveying sense of stagnation and inescapability of the microcosm that the characters found themselves occupying. If i was to argue, the ambiance of decaying mining town with no visible sense of community nor future prospects is the best thing about that title. That being said, visual symbolism can get little obnoxious at times (closed gate, christian imagery).
In short it's more than good, and if you're a raging yuri fag you'll probably find it the next best thing since [fill in whatever's working for you]. Regardless of personal inclinations it's still most likely worth your time.
