As much as I love this manga,

single
goddamned
page
sets off my red flag senses, and it’s really hard for me to read it when I can’t go two sentences before I feel like someone’s going to either A) get killed, B) become a vegetable, or C) get enslaved.
I know that this probably just me being paranoid, but ever since I read (and subsequently dunked directly into the trashcan) that fuckin’ “panties cinderella” manga (You know the one YOU KNOW THE ONE), I have stopped trusting the tags.
Need examples? Look no further than Figure 1: literally everything on the top half of page 7. The moment I saw the word obedient, I went back a page and swapped out to a different browser tab, completely out of instinct. And trust me, those instincts are stronger than my arachnophobia, and that’s sayin’ a lot.

Also, in response to Lucca: indeed. They are the best of the best better than the rest. She truly deserves better than the literal skirtchaser that is our “protagonist”.

Nope. That’s the one. Do note that this was in like, 2018-ish, and I was not accustomed to the degeneracy. I hadn’t read anything besides ultra-vanilla romance manga and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
I understand that there are series that are MUCH worse, and I know that if I went back and read it now it’d probably just be mediocre rather than horrific, but the trauma it left on me has me feeling like Mahiro does toward her training guides after getting amnesia.
