I can't get over the fact that Itsumi's reaction to Arare masturbating in front of her room is to say it's not that weird, and to apologize for making her feel lonely... only to follow it up with "I don't really like you that much."

Arare seems to be in a similar place as Itsumi was at the start of the series, not having any genuine connections while treating everyone else like objects. Her plan to isolate Itsumi also backfired tremendously, and now she has been thoroughly rejected too. It's hard to reach the level of pathetic that Itsumi used to be and Ruruka still is, but Arare managed to do it in just one chapter.

As others already mentioned the love potion probably only strengthens already existing feelings. In most cases it was probably just people thinking Itsumi is hot in some way on some level of their consciousness and since Itsumi was already directly in front of them she served as a convenient outlet. The question now is whether the potion failed on Itsumi because she already has such strong feelings/desires towards Hanei that they got amplified automatically or because she just genuinely doesn't look at her sister like that and the potion just got redirected to the next best person that she is interested in and that was on her mind at the time. So basically, would she try to make a move on Yanagi for example if she was given the potion in her presence or is she so head over heels for Hanei that she'd just default to getting horny for her from now on

see if is guards herself for Hanei or falls victim to the seductive rich girl.

I'm gonna be honest and maybe this isn't a popular opinion, but I kind of liked when this series had more harem energy rather than just Rin winning all the time. Like...what happened to that girl from the arcade? Toudou was really in to her. I dunno, I guess because Rin was so separate from the other love interests, basically just locked in to her own chapters, her making all this rapid progress kind of makes it feel like a different manga entirely.

Rin was there for Cops and Robbers and is now there for Toudou Arare. She's just about as connected to the rest of the cast as Yayoi or Banryuu.

Yeah, if anything Yanagi Yayoi is the most siloed of the main love interests so far but I don't think anyone truly resents how quickly she shot ahead of, say, Kurohime and Kamisada in the Itsumibowl off the strength of two chapters

I'm just now realizing we got Itsumi's backstory. Outside of Rin's flashbacks we didn't really know anything about her past huh?

Now I'm going to reread with the context that Itsumi was lonely and crying by herself in her own house and it'll probably be an even more solid read somehow. lol

After the train wreck that was chapter 28, I was so excited when I saw that this was going to be Arare’s debut chapter! I was also kinda nervous given Mocchi’s previous stories when it comes to sisters. But I think it turned out great! Toudou really shone in this chapter. She’s matured so much as a character, and it really shows. Not only does she not hold back in telling Rin her feelings, but she also manages to be considerate and sympathetic to her sister.

I’m relieved this chapter didn’t take a wrong turn and regress into something unfortunate. Arare’s character was a bit predictable and made me a bit nervous, but Toudou‘s response to her scheming was right on the money.

It’s quite funny how Arare mirrors the earlier version of Toudou. Perhaps that means she might grow up a bit just like her older sister.
