Mako’s “interest” in Yoshida most likely started in this amusement park ark because prior to this were limited interactions and they are: 2nd year field trip (after Mako makes-up with Yuri, she seemed scared/confused at Yoshida beating Tomoko awake) Sports Festival (possible, but not a lot of screen time to confirm,) and 2nd Year farewell party.(again not enough to confirm.) Those other interactions does increase Yoshida’s familiarity with Mako, though we never seen Yoshida making her rude delinquent remarks (that she throws at people she doesn’t know) at Mako before like “Who the hell are you, haaaa??” which is interesting..

Amusement park ark most likely since Yoshida is in more happier/cute state, so she is much more approachable and amiable with the people that she is familiar/friendly with (unless you make a negative remark about the place and piss her off x20) which Mako clearly knows how to read between the lines.

Rereading really enriches the experience, at 1st read I saw the shifting battlelines but had fog of war, 2nd read has me at eagle's eye, appreciating each key player, their interlinking, what ties a group and what severs. Truly Watamote is peak social battle shonen.
