I don't see that. Mako had some sort of dating going on two yours before and none since. Her extreme embarrassment seemed to have something to do with the announcement happening while she was next to Yoshida, who she was rattled to discuss it with. If anything, the Yoshida/Mako possibilities are increasing, especially after Mako's possessive behavior during the suspension.
Yuri may still be yuri; she has pretty much short-circuited communications with the other side from the get-go.
Asuka and Tomoko continue their odd, flirtatious little relationship.
Tomoko meets the guy from before and a horrifying moment in her past, having to do with pretending she was with a guy, has been absolved. They are clearly not going to date; he's just a nice guy who made her realize that yet another thing she hated about herself has fallen by the wayside.
After she said it was kind of a drag to be heading toward the end of the final year without having a boyfriend, she basically said it was okay because she could be with her girl friends.
I mean, whether straight or yuri or both, sorting things out about the other team is normal, especially with these normal girls who are just starting out. Tomoko has found a world of female friendship that makes the world of trying to get together with guys look pretty small.
I knew four lesbian girls in high school, and they dated or used guys as cover to one extent or another. They didn't know what they needed yet and it is terrifying to come out at that age and in those circumstances.
