Holy shit what a chapter of progress and development. This manga continues to defy all expectations while feeling internally consistent and mostly rooted in reality. If this doesn't get a second anime season it would be a huge missed opportunity.
What are you talking about? The art is better. It's still awkward in terms of settings and stuff like that, but that's way better than in the first fourth of the series and the character design has remained consistently brilliant.
The anime covers the first chapters of the manga. I'd watch the anime for its own sake and go ahead and just read this from the beginning. It's rough sledding and only lightens up occasionally until Ch. 70 or so, but you can't understand what comes after without understanding what went before.
