乙部 紫 (Otsube Yukari) and 藤見 晶子 (Fujimi Shouko)
Few kanji are different, but the main couple is Murasaki Shikibu (紫式部) and Fujiwara Shoushi (藤原彰子) aren’t they?

Any guess which is Tenri?
Sanjou could be Emperor Sanjou, Shoushi’s husband’s cousin (who replaced him as the next emperor).

Oh wow, the god artist for "I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class" does yuri for their series where they are both writer and artist? What a pleasant surprise.
Also do yaoi. Quite a flexible manga artist :D

Cousin isn’t incest. Cousins can also legally marry.
I mean youre not wrong, technically, but at the same time, making them childhood friends wouldnt really be different from what I assume the reason is, they were always close. Why do they have to share any blood relation other then to fuel incest fantasies.

Japan literally had to issue a law against portraying sibling incest positively. They got some weird tastes over there and I agree with op why they always gotta bring weird incest subplot into my yuri or really any of it.

Yes im still mad about them doing it in whisper me a love song. great 40 something chapters of top tier Yuri then boom incest subplot.

Begging on my hands and knees her crush isn't Tenri.

we need the random ass incest plots in yuri to stop bro
Yeah I got that feeling too.. let's hope it's wrong.... 😭 I would rather the crush be on the boy atp. Tenri would've been fine if she was a friend but of course they had to make her a cousin.. for what???

Japanese high school girls don't speak like this.
You do.
Please translate better.
..? What are you even complaining about? Those are perfectly fine translations. The first line is cringy, yes, but it's supposed to be.. if you think critically for just about 2 seconds, if you're capable of that, you'll likely come to the conclusion that she's probably attempting to use trendy high school Japanese slang to "connect" with a popular girl in front of her, and those are probably the most equivalent English terms the TL could think of.

As for the other two speech bubbles, I frankly don't see any reason you'd think high schoolers don't communicate like this. Unless your point lies more in the distinction between Japanese high schoolers and American high schoolers. Which just seems like strange exoticization of and projection on foreigners IMO. Why would it be strange for a high schooler to be aware of concepts like empathy or invalidation, regardless of nationality?
