I knew the wager was braindead the second they made it, but now that we're actually at the match itself, I can't actually imagine what a world in which the wager makes any sense at all. Like Ren is a (supposedly) sentient being who makes decisions for herself. Why would she just accept that if either of the girls wins she has to marry them? Did she forget she isn't an inanimate object? Make it make sense. Even keeping in mind her low self esteem, this is the dumbest romantic wager I've seen in a romcom yet. There's no stakes for me because the stated stakes don't seem real in the first place. It's just three dumbasses playing video games and saying dumb things at each other

eh, no. Like literally no.
It's part of her characterization that she is so afraid of being left alone she hates the idea of rejecting people.
If that weren't the case, she would have already rejected Mai clearly. And wouldn't have accepted the wagger.
She always tries to find a path in which she can find a way for others to either change their mind or accept her ways, because outright reject what they want (Mai to be her lover and Satsuki to pretty much use her to make Mai annoyed) is something she cant do.

Ah yes as the chapter of the death match naturally Mai comes back into the picture, and she's annoying as hell to me as usual, they tried a cutsy moment with her and renako and I cringed oh so hard, I'm reminded she wasn't properly narratively punished on account of her sexual assault

Its that thing where a character has a fuck up last shown in previous chapters yet the story acts like their completely deserving of yuri and gives the Yuri moments, but if your aware instead of kicking your feet up giddy, your side eyeing it so fucking hard, cause there's no fucking way your just glossing over the fact they did that and we're doing nothing about it...

Oh god are we using the term marry here? That's so much worse but it's so Ludacris I'm assuming it's a choice in translation, This whole, situation is preposterous man, your characters are so bad they have renako get with them if they win, I can't stress this enough RENAKO IS A TROPHY IN THIS BATTLE, WHAT THE FUCK

Now she's acting like she's already won, she's more obnoxious than normal, Is character development for her even possible? The road to redemption must start with wanting the redemption first, but Mai is so far off from that

And that's right Mai was the one monologuing, deranged-chan stopped to listen in gun range for some reason, and in the end Mai got downed by renako cause she was fucking monologuing, monologuing monologuing MONOLOGUING, IS EVERYTHING A BLOODY JOKE TO YOU

I'm now convinced this is the story's way of getting renako to change out her super pleasing ways by showing how she gets fucked over by it, recently anyways I dunno what the fuck was going on I'm the early chapters, but the writing and the story is tighter here, now let us all forgot that mai almost raped renako in the start of the double digits
