His from neighborhood and doesn't related to her fiance. Currently on the run from assassins hence the mask, but in preparation to strike back. MC was his first love since childhood and became emotional support on two different occasions completely unaware this was the same man.

Confirming theory and telling me it's trope, instead of the interesting early set up, doesn't give me hope.
The only worse trope than "male royal who does nothing but upstages everything because of desire to own female lead like prize" in villainess manga is "fuckwit child/teen we SWEAR is a genius but never actually does anything smart" in revenge and mystery manga.

Spoiler: Novel Spoilers

- Dad gets arrested for treason and rebellion for amassing a private army and weapons of mass destruction(which he bought for his private collection).

- Sister gets into huge debt for stealing the crown prince, but cannot pay because the mom already spent it all. Was about to be sold to a sex dungeon to pay off her debts but ran away, which resulted in her getting permanently crippling injuries.

- Mom gets sold into the sex dungeon instead via the dad's recommendation lol.

- Crown prince got a lot of shit from the church and the high council for breaking a royal engagement. Was also asked to pay palimony but he is broke af. When he saw that the sister is crippled he abandoned her in an instant.

So why she didn't let the sister inherited the count title?
