Why does Kaede insist on killing Ai so much. If you feel empty inside, convincing someone else to kill themself with you is just insane. I get the mental health struggle but I never wanted to bring someone down with me. That's where she loses me.

Her untreated deppression has left her completely delusional. Instead of a soulmate, she thinks she's the missing piece to her incomplete soul (emptiness)? And the only way to be whole is to die together so the halves can fuse. This wacko bro science combined with the weird ass crystal/gem mysticism is shocking. Can someone this far gone even be rehabilitated?

its been a while since ive read this but did we get a flashback on kaede's childhood? not just her school life and up? if not im very curious if she repressed that part of her childhood which is why we dont see it. i know someone can become a terrible person or mentally ill without trauma. not diagnosing kd but i also have bpd too ands its a bit jarring to see such extreme codependency like that reminding of ppl with bpd having a "favorite person" or fp.
