More like YURI camp am I right folks ? 😏 It's kinda amazing how all these girls are former fighting yankees yet they manage to be more adorable and wholesome about love than most rom-com protagonists I know of. Also, Takebe is tsundere incarnate 😆

I'm the only one who really want Takebe not to be in love ? I just hate when someone in a manga say no everytime but peoples treat it like it's a tsundere and not like the person is really not interested. It's just annoying. The consideration that she is just not even in love is not an option.

@Lilliwyt I think that in the beginning you could say that Takebe wasn’t in love, but as time has passed she’s definitely begun changing, whether she realizes it or not. At this point she enjoys spending time with Soramori, feels unfulfilled when she’s not around (like at the origami), and she’s beginning to show signs of jealousy towards other women who get too close to her. I think that this is just her way of expressing emotions.
For a long time she was a delinquent and so she had to project a certain kind of persona, and she is still clearly very effected by that. I think that Takebe’s personality means that she experiences or understands emotions differently from a others, and so her feelings and their relationship also are developing to match that.

I get where you're coming from. If I didn't think that she was open to the possibility of falling in love when she agreed, I wouldn't have read past the first chapter.

It's kinda the same way I feel about a lot of date/marry-first, fall-in-love-second stories like "Can't Defy the Lonely Girl," "The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady," or "Received a Wife from the Civil Affairs Bureau." It'd be way too skeevy if there wasn't consent to at least give it a try.

It might just be my own reading of it obviously but I always felt Takebe accepting Soramori back in her life was an admission that she was at least open to the idea of a romantic relationship with her. Soramori was very open and forward from the get-go about her intentions after all, it's a bit like Tohru and Kobayashi from Maid Dragon in that sense. She's very unused to closeness and pretty awkward about it but she sees Soramori as someone ''special'' already.

Takebe might be the biggest womanchild I've seen in manga, it's pretty fun.

I like that they discussed that romance isn't always the flashy tv stuff like insta-worthy dates and stylish outfits, especially outside of the heteronormative relationship. Putting on a fake act to try and seem perfect is impossible to maintain and then what? Might as well be a dork from the beginning :)

babysteps, but progress is progress! Takebe doesn't seem to be able to express how she actually feels ever, but her heart's in the right place. I think that bit of 'it's fine to just want to be together, screw the expectations' is really important, and maybe with Soramori chilling out a little on the Perfect Couple Checklist and really listening to Takebe, they can grow closer yet.
