My only question is how long it takes the emperor to clean house in response. That was such an obvious attack that it seems there will be an investigation... and what's one less prince or princess if he's taking women off the streets to make heirs?

Basically, I'm suggesting that, because he's morally dubious and his chosen heir was murdered, he probably doesn't want the people around who don't respect his choices to that degree, regardless of whether they're his kids or not.
