yeah.... its no surprise that the nur empire was written because of popular demand, different from part 1 that was actually a more consistent story... the retcons were a bit bruh imo...
i kinda like the first half cause of the characters and pretty good plot with twist and turn until taim kick in and send whole story to hellfire and we are made to watch it lmao

Oh this is a surprise! The Head Maid was touched on in part 2 of the light novel that she had combat experience and it seems like this scene helps address why that might have been.

The problem is that Salas is too OP right now... he managed to fuck everyone of the oposition without conecting to him. Quite OP
Honestly the manga making him a bit more OP than he was in the novels is a double edged sword because then you get to act 2 and it's even more baffling that he's now f--ing incapable of coming up with a new big evil plan

Nur empire I think the writing is too inferior in comparison to part 1 but it would be interesting in manga format ngl.

If they managed to improve the source material soo much on the manga, it just makes me wonder ehat they could do as well with Nur empire and all.... but to me it felt like it breaks too much original concepts...
Well, there's a bit of mental retconning going on here... The first novel is an absolute slog compared to its manga adaptation. Arguably moreso than late novel 3 and early novel 4, considering I got through those but dropped LN1 halfway through... yes, I'm scanlating this series and haven't finished the book that started it all

If Aonoshimo was able to turn the first novel into peak, I can only imagine how good she could make act 2. Literally, I'm only going to be imagining it, since it'll never happen :qq:

This story epitomizes why I prefer isekei where the protagonist comes with semi-phenomenal nearly cosmic power.

Where's the fantasy in being at the whim of every upstart government official with delusions of grandeur? That's too much like real life.

Better to bestride the world like a colossus, bringing down empires with the snap of one's fingers.
This is the only isekai I've read so this is secondhand but isn't the complaint that other isekais are all more or less the same? "generic japanese person with little personality is magically transported fantasy land" seems to describe a lot of them.

I imagine the isekai concept is best used as a plot device, like it is here. ILTV is fundamentally written around the catalyst event, the isekai of Rei Oohashi-- not because that's all there is to it, but precisely the opposite. It would require so damn many changes to fundamental parts of the story for the series to not be an isekai. For example, Rae uses her approximate foreknowledge to protect the people around her. That's a lot of events to rewrite!

But it COULD THEORETICALLY WORK if you removed the isekai part. It isn't depending on just being an isekai in order to be interesting. Which I think is better. :smug:

That is to say, I think this type of isekai is superior. The type where it isn't a genre, because treating it like a genre dooms the story to being samey, and instead, it's a plot device.

Yes, I'm sure you would. Of course, you also prefer stories where every woman is eager to throw themselves at the protagonist, their will utterly suborned to yours-I-mean-his. So I wonder why you're even bothering to read this.

oh yeah pretty sure they made Salas more OP because we wont have arc 2 after all... it is what it is...

and yeah I didnt rly like the retcons idk... even Claire's POV sidestory that I love, I kinda hate that friend that ironically I forgot her name lol

The more I think about the story the more I fond defects oof... but again the manga improved a lot most of it and I would give at least some faith to try arc 2 if they wanted... but I guess they wont after all...

but its sad, the more the author expanded the world, more bullshit inconsistencies popped up hahahha

... so who the hell that is, the afterword is acting like I should remember since it's the "second most controversial" but I really don't :p As generic of an anime face as any other.
Lene is the one, bc she was having an affair with her brother, she was Claire's maid and even goed the country, but I do wonder who is the most controversial character if not her, since I'm not even sure if her brother was an established character

who's the first then lmao, I though it was her but I guess not
Sameeee, I tried to Google it, but didn't find any discussion thread on it, so I asked duck duck go Ai and then I had enormous beef with ooit bc it kept saying "Ani" or "Anis", but when I asked who she was it said that it doesn't know and that the source material can't be given

Not Lene... The biggest problem in this manga by far. I also hate that they equate incest to being LGBT by proxy, it's awful
I have very mixed feelings about it. It's an interesting addition to Claire's arc, but at the same time why was incest in the series in the first place and why is it being brought back up. I'm of the opinion that consenting adults can do whatever the hell they want, but keep it outta my yuri, sheesh :pout:

Manaria lol. The way the manga rewrote a certain scene regarding her maid makes her veeery hated by a lot of people, and understandably so
