Fucking good. All these people acting like the romance is cool. She's got how many years on him exactly? People forget just how creepy and borderline criminal this relationship could be in different scenarios. Remember how many age gap romances fail because of how creepy and unnatural they are? Usagi Drop for example. That said, this manga was never as good as people wanted it to be, just well drawn, maintained a generic manga air of maturity, and had some decently done real life scenarios, something that a lot less people will defend now that their ship has sunk. I cannot wait to see all the fucking scores and reviews that were praising this 20 chapters in implode.

Of course!
But don't need to be now, can be, it's better be, in the future.

Let's discuss the actual story, not fanfics and head-canon.

What's the problem?
This is a manga, is just fiction.
I like this manga very much even without romance, but if it does happen, what's wrong? I just with that it's well developed.

In this very story it's extremely creepy from a 3rd person POV. I don't really think I need to explain the problems between an unrelated adult and children of the opposite sex have close interpersonal relations, especially when one is romantically and emotionally attached.

And since you're obviously a person who ships the two of them, it'd be impossible, not matter how many real world or acceptable comparisons I make that you seemingly wish to dismiss due to how inconvenient they are, under the guise of them being unrelated, to say anything convincing to you.

Thank you for translating the interview, it was very thorough and I liked how the author was very open about their thoughts and self-reflection too. I liked knowing their direction for the plot, yes it is a spoiler but I want to see how our author chooses to develop it. Honestly, I'm super excited for the upcoming chapters!

As much as I don't think they could work together, the fact that it no longer exists in the realm of possibilities upsets me. I was all for any upcoming developments as long as they were well written and explained.

Thank you for translating the latest chapter, and for translating the interview. It was a really interesting read and I'm looking forward to seeing where the author takes the story. A lot of people are commenting on the lack of an age-gap relationship (and dropping the manga as a result), which is a shame. The two leads DO have a relationship. No, it's not sexual. But it's complex and in some areas very twisted, but also beautiful and constantly developing. It strikes me as being very realistic, despite what the author said in the interview about the outcome. I think this is a good manga for people who are into emotional conflict and development in a relationship. It's very different from other manga. I hope people stick around to see how Mashuu and Satoko grow.

The author in this interview seems to say very different things compared to the first volume afterword, where there's even a joke about one of the editors being a shotacon. I have the nagging suspicion that some of this interview was staged because of the magazine change or/and the fact that the author was going into really controversial territory with this work.

I definitely feel like either the author has went on some self-reflecting herself, which I'm kinda glad. While I am guilty of liking age-gap stories, if there was a such a relationship in real life, I'd seriously be concerned. Though I honestly wish it took the age-gap romance direction but oh well, its still a peaceful manga to read.
EDIT: Okay checking chapter 18 at the end with the bonus stuff. I don't blame people for getting upset since it's advertised as a "Age gap romance for women" "younger boy x older women" etc.

Wow thanks for translating,

Well personally, 18 years is a huge age gap and I felt confused (to ship them or not) when reading this. I totally understand where the father comes from.

I still feel duped by the author though haha

I'm guessing more awkwardness, pain, suffering and an open ending is what awaits us with this story ; u ; I don't understand the meaning of a peaceful manga... this is kinda drama or tragic romance I guess

But I also feel like a bomb is about to drop. That's definitely not a flag right? Yup, it ain't right?

This is really sad, I feel like both of them are still suffering after their happy little moments. In the end, it's just impossible. Satoko should really just move on, and Mashuu should focus on growing up and making opportunities in his life. I love them both so I hope they get a happy ending.
