Interresting theory. But as my gay-plumber friend like to say: "there's a piping issue".
On a more serious tone, i'd be weird for Shiori and Miko to not notice if Erika was a mermaid. Although I can see them not telling Hinako (and by extention the reader) for plot reasons.

While Erika beeing Shiori and Azami's daughter is impossile (unless we go full meme and lesbians reproduce via handholding, just like in real life.). She could be Azami's descendent, the old lady has been around for a while, it's not unthinkable that she's tryed to play house and have a family at least once. Maybe your cousin is onto something idk.
