Why are some of you asking as if hes permanently fit now? it was shown that he basically instantly reverts to being a fatty right after an intense fight and also his hidden trait makes him permanently fat.
Was the previous 10 chapters get such bad reviews that the author is about to cancel this whole thing?
Mangaka fucked up on chapter 4. His mom was supposed to have black hair because Souta's hair is black. Mangaka made him seem like he was some adopted kid because he didn't resemble his parents.
these last 15 chapters feel so wrong, not to mention the story took a different path from the LN, the story started feeling so rushed, and just inserting plot points for the sake of it with no explanation and we just have to accept it. I actually feel dumber the more i read this series. This manga like many others started feeling cheap and rundown.
Mangaka cut a lot of parts from the LN to make original content for Kaoru and her companions. So the end result is like this.
Souta was supposed to fight this demon kid here, but this was also cut too.
I still think this manga is fine as a companion to the LN. The cut content doesn't bother me much since it means things will move a little faster. Couldn't imagine reading this without reading the novel first though.

It completely fails to do its job as a standalone (with shitloads of retcons no less). I can't see it continuing like this for much longer at this point. It all became a mess for anyone who didn't read the LN or heard of it.
In the last volume, the mangaka said it was selling well.
I think he will either "adapt" the parts he skipped or make filler which both are likely to happen since we got a taste of it with that duel between Yuuma and Tachigi.
I think the biggest reason I haven't dropped the manga is because I've read the LN. It helps fill in the gaps the manga skips or poorly explains. The lesson is: THIS IS NOT A MANGA, It's a LN advertisement.
i was only reading this so i could see the CF reaction to the mc not being a mid boss fatass, and was getting excited when he was spending time with other girls hoping it would get a reaction out of her. but after so long and a million jump the shark moments im finally going to drop this trash. i legitimately have no idea what this manga is even about anymore.

Actually, the tournament/competition arc is often used to introduce a wide range of characters and such.
The problem is that this entire arc and the beginning took like 4 volumes.
About the plot, we so far know that they're trapped in this game the manga hasn't even touched on the fact that the players have to kill each other in order to develop their unique skill. Also, the plot of Dunex has a lot of catastrophic events such as terrorists attacks, invasion from foreign countries such as "The Holy Empire" and "USA" and the threat of civil war due to several adventures clans resent the country's aristocracy (Nobles).
Souta already killed one player (Volgemuth) that skeleton guy.
The player who fully manages to develop his skill will have one wish granted.
According to the Light Novel, the world of Dunex was created by a secret society of mages led by Merlin, their intention is unknown.

this plot is a mess. i remember reading the part where they were still in the real world like japan and usa were real places and it confused the fuck out of me because i dont anything about them being still in the real world kinda. it was just kinda dropped out of nowhere while the story was under way. just feels incredibly badly written.
bro lmao what are they doing with the pacing. The pacing for the arc was fucking glacial and mc was only to be cool for like three chapters while he ate shit the rest of it, and then when its finally over the epilogue was like speedrunned lmfao
