I went and read Chinese Translation of Page 14, Panel 2 (of course its unofficial) of the manga, and it was supposed to be “Kaoru does not have bad ending like Satsuki anyway”.

What he trying to say is that he does not wanted Kaoru to know any stuff that is DLC related, since she does not have a bad end, unlike Satsuki.

Like 90% of the clunkiness is just the manga. The webnovel is far clearer, more structured, and has stronger pacing. For whatever reason, the manga keeps shuffling events and motivations around without really thinking them through…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying the manga. But I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t partly fun just because it’s kind of butchering the original story xD
